Eighteen thousand students competed this year in 13 regionals around the state of Colorado for NHD, of those, 773 students advanced out of their regionals to the State Contest. Bear Creek took 8 students (6 projects) to the State Contest. All 8 students advanced out of the Preliminary Rounds at State into the Finals!
Jeremiah Ravenscroft's paper won 2nd place at the State Contest and he is moving on to Nationals.
Juan Franco's performance won 3rd at State, he is the National Alternate in Senior Individual Performance
The remainder of our students, Jacqui Jurado, Judith Aragon, Hannah Grimes, Bobby Esquibel and Ben Stokes finished in the top 5 in their category.
Brooke Wunder received an Honor Cord from the National NHD Office for making it to State for two years in a row in senior individual documentary.
NHD sponsor and teacher, Kelly Cvanciger was awarded Colorado NHD Teacher of the Year 2017.
